Doubtful Sound is the biggest sound in New Zealand, with a large variety of flora and fauna unique to the area. These include tree orchids, ancient beech forests, seals, dolphins, and weka.

The sound has been carved out of granite by glacial action over millions of years. The most spectacular feature of Doubtful Sound is the waterfalls, which send tons of water cascading down the mountains.
